Get to Know Amanda Wallis
Amanda has been working in health, wellness, and healing since 2001. She holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She is a recognized certified energy healer, shamanic practitioner, sound healer, advanced energy diagnostic practitioner, and an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church. Amanda is an energy medicine practitioner and full mesa carrier of the Q’ero traditions, Laika shamans from the Amazon and High Andes of Peru. In addition to her private practice, Amanda continues to work as an outpatient occupational therapist specializing in the treatment of orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and cognitive deficits, with extensive experience in myofascial release therapy and wheelchair assessments.
Amanda’s knowledge and perspective on healing and wellness greatly expanded beyond the Western medical model when she began to participate in various workshops with indigenous healers, medical intuitives, scientists, physicists and philosophers. Some of the more influential workshops she has attended have been with Dr. Brené Brown, Yuri Flores, The International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, Louise Hay, Russ Hudson, Dan Millman, Dr. Caroline Myss, Dr. Candace Pert, Vilma Pinedo, Dr. Mona Lisa Schulz, Ashera Serfaty, Puma Fredy Quispe Singona, Eckhart Tolle, and Dr. Fred Alan Wolf. During these workshops, Amanda came to understand that the body holds memories of trauma in the form of energy blocks that can lead to dis-ease and illness; that our thoughts have a powerful influence over our health; that our personalities outline our behaviors; and that our past traumas can be healed. Amanda is now fully convinced of the power that the unity of our mind-body-spirit has to create wholeness.

Amanda acknowledges five primary teachers who contributed greatly to her own mastery of energy healing. Over the last 13 years, she has completed many workshops and a teacher’s training with Joy Adler such as “Psychology of the Body” and “Advanced Energy Diagnostics”. Amanda completed a 3-year certificate and graduate program, “Walking the Shaman’s Path” with Patricia White Buffalo. During that training, she learned to recognize the safety, power, and beauty in stillness through meditation with spiritual healer, Amitá. And, Amanda completed a 300-hour program at the Light Body School of The Four Winds Society with Dr. Alberto Villoldo. Lastly, she has studied shamanism and sacred ceremony through various workshops with Sandra Ingerman.
Amanda’s deep spiritual longing and inquisitive nature have encouraged her to travel to some of the most powerful and ancient healing places in the world including Australia, China, Iceland, India, Ireland, Jordan, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, New Zealand, and Peru bringing the sacred more fully into her healing practice. While traveling to Nepal, she was introduced to Tibetan singing bowls. Amanda saw how effective the beautiful tones were in creating sacred space and providing internal healing with the frequencies they generated. She subsequently trained at the International Academy of Sound Healing and now includes the use of singing bowls in her practice.
Amanda loves to be in nature and lives in the beautiful Adirondack mountains of New York. She loves to walk and hike in nature and experience the elements. Amanda enjoys reading and learning about modern and ancient wisdom teachings. She loves to spend time with her beloved, family and friends, and travel the world, experiencing and gaining inspiration from the beauty of the natural world. Through her travels she has enjoyed discovering new cultures and beliefs, exploring indigenous peoples’ traditions and ceremonies. Amanda continues to deepen her daily spiritual practice with Spirit, walking her way back home.
Through these varied experiences, Amanda has developed unique skills as a healer of the body, mind, and spirit. She uses her grounding presence, deep listening skills, open heart, and intuition to help others heal.
